Who we are
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
We collect information about visitors who comment on this site that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).
If you submit any queries through the contact form, we will know any details you enter. We will be able to see your e-mail address if you provide it, as well as any additional information you put in there (because how else are we supposed to answer?).
Cookies are files with small amount of data that is commonly used an anonymous unique identifier. These are sent to your browser from the website that you visit and are stored on your computer’s hard drive.
Our website uses these “cookies” to collection information and to improve our Service. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies, and know when a cookie is being sent to your computer. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Links to other sites
If you click on a third-party link, you will be redirected to another website. Everything outside toptravelsights.com is not operated by us so make sure you review any privacy policies of websites you visit. Also, we have no control over the content of other websites and their practises (but if something seems wrong with any of my links to third-person websites, please let us know so we can review it).
We use Google Analytics to analyse the website traffic. This means that when you visit this site, a cookie stores your information like your IP address, the browser you’re using or which country you’re visiting us from. We will use this information to analyse how to improve website traffic and to know which pages are visited more often and what to improve on the website.
On this website, we give you the option to subscribe to our newsletter. If you do, then we might send you e-mails for marketing purposes (mostly, we will use the newsletter to inform you about our new posts). The newsletters that we send may contain tracking pixels. These pixels are embedded in the email and allow us to see how successful our online marketing campaigns are. That means that, because of these tracking pixels, we can see if you open a newsletter, at what time you open it and also on which links you click. We will not give out this information to anyone else, but we might use it to make our future newsletters better and adapt them to your interests.
On Top Travel Sights, we engage in affiliate marketing, which is done by embedding tracking links into the website. If you click on any of these links, a cookie might be placed on your browser to track the sales, so we can get commissions later.
Clicking on a link means that we get a small commission for your purchase, at no extra cost to you. The compensation might impact how and where links appear on this site, but we would never recommend anything to you that we wouldn’t either use ourselves or recommend to our friends and family.
This site does not include all financial companies or all available financial offers.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others.
